Sean O’Malley
         Writer/Producer/Director – Bio

Born and raised in New Orleans, Sean O’Malley brings a unique cultural perspective to every
one of his television projects. As a writer and executive producer in his hometown he was
responsible for numerous programs and documentaries which aired on PBS, FOX, and CBS,
including “Inside Saints,” a weekly series for the NFL’s New Orleans Saints franchise and
segments for Fox Sports’ “This Week in Baseball.”

Upon moving to Los Angeles, Sean immediately put his talents to work on programming for
Discovery Networks such as TLC, Travel Channel and Discovery Health. As the writer,
supervising producer and director of “Mardi Gras Cops,” a one-hour special for the Travel
Channel, Sean applied his extensive knowledge of both documentary production and the
Big Easy to produce a fast paced, colorful program that was described by Discovery
Networks as an “outstanding hour – skillfully, shot written and edited.”

Sean’s production company is currently producing eleven episodes of “The Hungry
Detective,” a new series for Food Network.

Sean served as a producer for two seasons on “Mostly True Stories: Urban Legends
Revealed,” a weekly series for TLC. His creative and insightful approach to producing this
provocative program, that both informed and entertained by debunking modern day myths,
helped solidify the show as an integral part of the network’s fall primetime lineup.

Sean also wrote and co-produced “Inside the Million Dollar Blackjack Tournament” for
Travel Channel’s popular “Secrets” series. Following up on the success of his blackjack
show, Sean wrote and produced “Vegas Challenge,” a five-part game show-style series
that aired in tandem with Travel Channel’s highly rated “World Poker Tour.”

Some of Sean’s other Discovery Networks credits include “Whale Tales: The Whales of
Las Vegas,” “Multiples,” a one hour Discovery Health special about families with quintuplets
and triplets and “Untold Stories of the ER” for TLC.

Since 2004, Sean has owned and operated a production company that focuses on producing
stylistic reality, documentary and series programming for television. Sean recently executive
produced, wrote and directed the one hour special “Raising The Bar: America’s Best Bar
Chefs” for the Fine Living Network. He executive produced and wrote “Russian Roswell,” a
one hour documentary that aired in the fall of 2005 on The History Channel.

Before leaving the Crescent City for Los Angeles, Sean received several awards and honors
for his documentary work. In the late nineties, he garnered the Louisiana State Bar Association’s
Excellence in Legal Journalism Award for a documentary about community policing as well as
a New Orleans Press Club award for his work on a hard-hitting one hour special on street
gangs in Louisiana.

Sean graduated from Loyola University, New Orleans with a Bachelor of Arts in
Communications. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife Jeannine.
